Wii need an overhaul

First things first. We never go to shoot episode 28. Ben was only down for one night and we didn't get a chance to get it done. So there will be a longer delay on the next episode. Which means we are going to seriously sit down and discuss how to make the episodes that we do shoot bigger, better and more exciting.

However the main part of this blog is to talk about the website. I wanted to open up a discussion on what we can do to make this site live on it's own if neither Ben and I can find too much time to work on it.

The forums are already doing pretty good. But I think we are going to need more help in the way of additional moderators to help keep things going smooth.

But aside from the forums what other steps do you think we can do to help keep the site current, fresh and keep people wanting to come back?

Here are some of my ideas

• Current up to date Wii news feeds from different websites
• More moderators for the forums
• Area to post when you'll be online playing a game and allow others to sign up to say they will join you
• Volunteers to organize larger online meetups and events
• A REAL game review submission procedure so users can submit reviews and the best ones get posted (I know I said I would do this before, but this time it'll actually get done)

These are some of the bigger ideas I have. So let me know what you think and if you have any ideas of your own. I'm sad I can't spend as much time on this project as I would like these days, and don't want what we built to fall apart. Let's keep this community going and growing!

Podcasts, Updates and Fixes oh my!

So I took some time and did a bunch of work. First off episode 27 is completed and out in the wild. Ben is coming down for Halloween so hopefully we'll get another one shot and I PROMISE I will edit this episode and get it out in a timely manner.

Secondly I have applied a bunch of upgrades, patches and fixes to the website. A lot of the little glitches like the user content images not showing up and stuff has been addressed. I have upgraded a LOT of the back end code so if you run across any new problems please post a new issue in the forums I will be checking them regularly and will start addressing any issues already there now.

Also the private messaging system has been upgraded and is a lot better now with more features. So those using the messaging functionality hopefully you'll be pleased with that.

I am in fact still alive

Hey everyone! I haven't been around much as I'm absolutely buried in work, both at work and after work. Sufficed to say I haven't even started the podcast :(

This weekend that just passed was the Windsor 48 Hour Film competition which I took part in. It was a blast, but also a lot of work. I still have a great deal of things to get done but will be trying to get the podcast out by the end of this coming weekend. Ben will also be trying to come down so hopefully we can shoot another one right away.

I really want to dedicate more time to the site, and I'm sorry things have been so delayed. One decision I have made however is that I will soon be introducing a new layout for the site which will had advertising space. This podcast and website take up a LOT of my time, and I'm too broke to not be making some revenue from it. So I encourage everyone when the time comes to visit our advertisers, and hopefully in the future any sponsors we may have.

I want to keep this thing going, but will need everyone's help.

The new episode will be out soon I promise!

Your guess is as good as mine.

So I have not been able to find Arvin. He is completely MIA. All I can assume that he has locked himself away in his studio making the best damn podcast he can. This next one is probably going to be amazing, with graphics and animations and robots.
The sum of it is that I have no idea where the next podcast is, but that pales in comparison to not knowing where Arvin is. Everyone should say something nice about him because flattery tends to get you everywhere and Arvin is a guy who likes to be flattered, (almost as much as I do).
So hang on, and keep the hope alive. We may just make it to 27! Episodes that is. Age has little to do with it.

Who want's another episode?

So I got a message from supersonic, (not sure if that is the old one or the new one), asking if Arvin and I have shot the next episode. Short answer, yes. Long answer, no one needs to hear. It is long and doesn't give any more information.

Now we are just waiting for Arvin to do his stuff and presto, Episode 27 is up. I think he has to put on a funny hat and dance, chanting magic words or something. I really don't listen when he tries to tell me what he does.

All I know is that he is working on it, so bug him. Just kidding. Bugging him would probably make the process take longer.
So there you have it. There is an episode 27, it has been shot and it is being worked on.

Now lets all forget this ever happened,
